What does VeriMail Pro do?
It checks whether the email addresses in lists you already own can receive mail, so you can remove dead ones before you send. You paste addresses or drop a CSV, TSV, TXT or XLSX file, and every address gets a status (Valid, Needs review, Unknown or Invalid), a reason and a score.
Does it send emails to the addresses?
No. The mailbox check asks the receiving mail server whether the mailbox exists (the RCPT TO
step) and stops there. It never sends DATA, so no email is transmitted or delivered.
Why is an address "Unknown" instead of Valid or Invalid?
Because it could not be confirmed: the mail server timed out, blocked or throttled the check, asked to try later (greylisting), or the probe server could not be reached. VeriMail Pro never reports an uncertain result as Valid or Invalid. Try those addresses again later.
What does "Needs review" mean?
The address may work but is not guaranteed. Each one says why: Catch-All (the domain accepts every address, so the mailbox cannot be confirmed), Disposable, Role-Based (such as info@), Greylisted, or Not Checked (on the Free plan the format and domain are fine, but the mailbox was not checked).
Why are Yahoo-hosted addresses never confirmed as Valid?
Yahoo-hosted mail accepts every address during the check, so a probe would prove nothing. Those addresses are marked Needs review (Catch-All) without being probed.
Plans and licenses
What does the Free plan include?
Hygiene, syntax, DNS and risk-list checks, history, the dashboard and exports, for up to 500 addresses per run. Mailbox (SMTP) checks need a paid plan.
Do I need port 25 open on my network?
No. Most home and office networks block outbound port 25, so paid plans run the mailbox check through VeriMail's probe server, which connects to the mail server from its own IP address.
On how many computers can I use one license?
A license can be active on a limited number of computers at once (shown on your license in the account). To move it, remove the old computer there; you can remove three computers every 30 days.
I lost my license key. What now?
Sign in to your account, open the license and choose "Get a new key". The old key stops activating new computers; computers already activated keep working.
Your data
Does my list leave my computer?
The hygiene, syntax, risk and DNS checks run on your computer. On paid plans, the addresses being checked are sent over HTTPS to the probe server for the mailbox check.
Which files can I import and export?
Import CSV, TSV, TXT or XLSX files, or paste addresses. Export results as CSV, XLSX or JSON.
